As Summers arrive, the skin becomes oily, greasy, sun-tanned , more acnes erupt, skin looses it's shine, which means need to do much more than daily skincare routine. In this article, I will share with you natural summer skincare tips, which are homemade.
A proper summer skincare is necessary to keep suntan, oily skin, dirt and acnes away. Proper cleansing, toning, scrubing is necessary with ingredients which can add a natural glow during summer.
There are so many natural ingredients in our Indian kitchens which can be used to reduce dark spots, pigmentation, suntan, dark circles, acnes, for brightening.
like tulsi, neem, turmeric, gram flour or besan, mulethi or licorice available in Indian kitchens. Licorice reduce pigmentation. You can eat them and apply them too.
Summers are harsh in India and daily summer skincare regime is a must.We need to take care of our skin more during the summer season and one of the main problem we face during summer is the sun-tan another one is oily skin and acnes. Most of us prefer ready-to-use skincare products but nature has given us abundance of natural ingredients that we can directly use it on our skin, to keep skin healthy and glowing.
When I was a teenager,
I never used any product other
than a face wash. I use to prepare and apply homemade skincare recipes which my mom told me. In India all of us do it but when we grow up,
we tend to forget all the homemade skincare stuff available in our kitchen and garden.
We switch to ready-to-use skincare products from the market. It is just simple to keep oil, sun-tan, acne, dark spots away from your skin, just look into your kitchen, you'll find many things that can benefit your skin. You can get natural glow with summer skincare recipes and tips this 2021 summer.
Besan Face wash:
• Take a teaspoon besan- mix with raw milk, add a pinch of turmeric.
• Apply a minute and wash, you can keep it for 15minutes like a face pack.
• Besan is good for oily skin
• It is used for de-tanning
• Used by Indian women for skin brightening & glow for centuries.
• It washes away all the dirt and oil.
You can also use a use a skin friendly face wash. Read the ingredients properly while purchasing a face wash. If you have oily acne prone skin and use a face wash containing tea tree oil.
Scrub:
• It removes dead skin cells., blackheads.
• Make it a part of your weekly summer skincare regime.
• take half teaspoon gram flour add half teaspoon oatmeal to it.
• add raw milk+ rose water
• apply in circular motion for one minute and wash with lukewarm
or running tapwater.
Tone your skin
A toner is must after face wash, most of us skip it. Toner eventones the skin besides hydrating it.
Rose water- a natural toner
For summer skincare rose water is the best natural skin toner.
• Rose water even tones the skin.
• It has anti-inflammatory properties.
• It has antioxidants vital for skin
It drains excess oil & maintains PH
• It reduces acnes
• Works on dark spots.
• Adds glow to the skin.
What should we look for, while purchasing a rose water? Rose water should be 100% pure, steam distilled without any chemicals or preservatives.
How to use rose water :
Just dab a cotton ball in rose water and wipe face.
You can also add:
• a pinch of turmeric and raw milk to rose water.
• Dab cotton ball and wipe,
• wash after cleaning.
This toner-cum-cleanser recipe will clean the skin besides imparting glow. If you don't want to add turmeric(some people don't like to apply turmeric due to yellow colour) you can avoid.
or you can simply spray rose water on face and wipe.
Use aloevera
• If you have an aloevera plant at home, just cut a piece,
• apply the gel all over the face
• wash after few minutes.
Besides moisturising aloevera will help heal sunburn, acnes, dark spots.
Cucumber
• Cucumber is known to lighten dark spot.
• Just grate cucumber and apply
or cut a piece of cucumber apply in circular motion all over the face.
• It also reduces dark circles around the eyes.
• It cools the skin and provide glow to the skin,
• I have experienced it myself and don't forget to eat cucumber.
Papaya pulp.
• Take a piece of papaya
• mesh it and apply after 10minutes than wash.
• Papaya reduce dark spots.
• Papaya has papin which exfoliates the skin.
• It vanishes dark spots and pigmentation.
• It has antioxidants which prevents break down of collagen.
Use a fruit face pack
• Mesh a little papaya,
• add cucumber water( just peel cucumber, grate it, squeeze out water) you can also grind it and use.
• keep ten minutes, than wash.
• it gives cooling effects during sweaty summers, will help reduce dark spots too.
• Papaya and cucumber both are helpful in reducing dark spots.
Sandalwood
Sandalwood powder is best suited for summer face care.
• Sandalwood is known to reduce sunburn and effective against pigmentation.
• Take a teaspoon of sandalwood powder
• Add multani mitti
• Add rose water
• This is the best face pack for summer.
• Sandalwood gives cooling effects to your skin.
• multani mitti drains out all oil,dirt from the face. It brightens your face after a long hot summer day.
Always apply sunscreen when you go out in sun during summer.
Night regime
• Always face wash before you sleep.
• Use a face wash which is safe for skin and has tea tree oil.
• I always apply rose water before sleeping after the face wash.
I don't use a night cream in summer since I have acne-prone oily skin. Therefore, I avoid using night cream during summer.
Fruits keep you healthy but they also keep the skin healthy too. So don't forget to eat seasonal fruits to keep your skin flawless & glowing besides imparting glow.

》Eat orange-apply the peel,
》eat papaya-apply papaya,
》eat besan-apply besan.
