'VEER NAARI'
Woman behind the soldier!
Veer naari: the woman behind the soldier - this is a tribute to the woman behind the Indian soldier, her sacrifice as a wife, she is the force behind the man she loves, that he is able to do his duty well.
The woman behind the soldier
We sing glory of her soldier man,
but seldom think of her!
She, who sacrifice silently,
She, who knows country is his first love, family second....
& she is last on his list...
But this doesn't break her down,
she keeps the smile,
& proudly wear his 'SINDOOR'!
She, the woman behind the soldier!
Perform all his duties as a son or a father would.
She miss spending, some of the best moments of her life with him...
She miss sharing the first kick of their child in her womb...
She miss his fragrance, togetherness, staring at the full moon!
She is the source of strength for him...
As he stand tall against the enemy gun...
& live without worrying about home, at a snow clad post... with no one around!
Her eyes are stuck at the door and ears on the mobile ringtone...
She waits for the doorbell to ring,
for the ringtone to sing...
She prays for his well being...
but have enough courage, to tell him over the phone...
that he should return but not before teaching the enemy a lesson!
she remain unsung when he bleeds for the nation....
as her man sleeps in the coffin,
& the world sing his glory..
Her sacrifice remains untold..
Her glory remains unknown...
Her tears remain silent!
Her soldier had the courage, to die for the nation...
For he knew...
when he's gone,
she will take care of his family as he would,
So he sleep peacefully wrapped in a tricolour...
knowing well,
from now onwards...
THE SOLDIER IN HIM, NOW LIVES IN HER!
She : the strength
As he serves the country, sometimes on an undisclosed location, there is a woman behind him, whom he trust, that she is there then, all will be well in the family when he's far away serving the country.
We as a nation has always believe woman to be a laxmi, Durga or calm as Saraswati but woman behind the soldier are all in one. They are the source of strength behind the man in uniform! They not only the strongness & valiantness of Durga but also her gentleness is a reflection of Laxmi or saraswati in her as she raise her family, when her man in uniform is serving far away. The Indian Women have been in the valour poetries, in stories of courage, and they have kept the tradition of Indian women since immemorial to decorate vermellion on their husbands & sons before they depart for the war, they signify the Gofdess like energy behind a soldier as mother wife daughter or sister.
Strong enough to support the soldier:
Since time immemorial, the Indian women have sent her man or son for war but not before decorating vermilion on his forehead. She is the source of strength, a force that he is able to survive on a high altitude mountains post at freezing temperatures without anybody else around.
Shivaji's mother Jijabai was intelligent and a source of strength for her son Chhatrapati Sivaji, the one who always motivated him and showed him the right path. Women in India has been like this only. History shows women has always been strength for the warrior who may be her son or husband, brother!
Modern Indian women is as strong
In the recent times we have seen heart wrenching and emotional videos of our martyred soldiers and their mother or daughter shouldering the coffins. The recent example was Naik Mandeep Singh's mother shouldering his coffin. CDS Gen Bipin Rawat's daughter's lighting their parents funeral. Salute to these women.
Col Ashutosh Sharma who was martyred in 2020, his wife kept so calm with sindoor in her maang trying to hide her immense pain & sorrow with her smile talking to media and fondly remembering her husband. It is this courage which makes a man in uniform to serve with pride or even die for his motherland for he knows the woman he has left behind has courage like him to be standing tall against all odds.
Women joining forces after their husband's martydom:
Col santosh mahadik martyred in 2015, his wife has worn the uniform once her husband wore. She stayed calm, strong keeping the tears aside to raise her kids and wear the uniform herself.
Recently, naik Nainwal's wife had passed out from ota and proudly wore two stars on her shoulders lifting her both kids in her arms, sure her martyred husband would be watching from above.
Conclusion
As a nation we should respect this courage of the Indian
woman who stands like a pillar behind the man in uniform. A family is shattered forever with the loss but the kind of strength and positivity these ladies show needs to be respected, saluted, we need to visit them and learn from them. They are just simple ordinary women with extraordinary grit.
