I have acne prone oily skin and my skin breaks out easily on applying any products. Acne eruption was a routine on my skin and even essential oils didn't help, moreover acnes left dark spots. I also had pigmentation due my medical condition as I sufferedfrom severe rheumatoid arthritis at a very young age and was enable to take care of my skin.
I suffer from hyperpigmentation and redness for past ten years and nothing could help my skin! Even essential oils didn't help, face packs, and skincare stuff and regimes could not help me.
I was tired of dark pigmentation patches along with acne, redness and acne spots.
I tried many products including organic ones but nothing helped.

Finally I was searching on an online shopping website for serum for dark pigmentation that I came across this brand minimalistic. The change began from here. I saw this minimalistic niacinamide serum, read the reviews and thought of buying it. I was a bit scared because I was new to minimalistic range of products but I finally, purchased it online.
Here I'll share how is minimalistic niacinamide 5% +HA 1% and what changes it brought to my skin. How I use it? I've been using it for the past 3 months now. Let's come to the review.
Packaging :
I will not write about the packaging of minimalistic niacinamide 5% + HA 1% because I thing the product's efficacy matters the most and also it's ingredients. After all we buy a skincare product so that it bring about visible changes in our skin. I don't consider packaging important because there are products in the market which have excellent packaging but have almost negligible effect.
Glass bottle :
Minimalistic niacinamide 5% serum come in a glass bottle. Glass bottle should be used instead of plastic. Plastic is not safe and also it is dangerous for our environment too.
I was really happy that the brand minimalistic has come out with glass bottles for their serums! The bottle is dark not transparent and has a dropper. It is always better to have a dropper for serums, you can easily use it without wasting any drop. You can also count the drops needed for application on the face.
Benefits of niacinamide :
Niacinamide is vitamin B3.
It minimizes redness, inflammation. It regulates sebum.
It can be helpful in lightening dark spots.
It helps build cells.
Treats acnes.
Ingredients :
All ingredients are mentioned on the cardboard box as well as on the bottle. The good thing is that niacinamide comes second in the list. It has decent preservatives, no parabens, no silicones, no essential oils, no sulphates.

What it does? :
As it has HA 1% which is hyaluronic acid it hydrates the skin, niacinamide repairs, soothe the skin works on acnes. If you are oily skinned and have acnes and want to improve texture of the skin than go for this one.
Consistency :
It is made with aloevera juice as base. Consistency is fluid like. It gets absorbed in the skin easily. Only a few drops are enough for the face but you can use it according to your requirements.
Niacinamide is good for dark spots and acnes. It works on acnes, acne marks, dark spots. Since it has hyaluronic acid 1% so, it also gives you a hydrated skin. We know hyaluronic acid hydrates the skin.
How to apply :
It should be applied on a cleansed face so that all ingredients can give good results. Wash your face with a face wash, apply drops as per your requirement, do not take too much of serum. Only little amount is enough. You can apply it after pat drying your face. You can also apply it on a slightly wet face. Apply and leave it.
My experience of using it :
I apply it in the morning after cleansing well. Skin should be well cleansed so that serum can penetrate deep into the skin to act on it. Though on the bottle it is written to use AM-PM but I use it only in the morning skincare routine. I saw visible effects after one week continuously using it. Bit I must say that I had 2-3 acnes they started drying from second day itself. It worked well on my acne and also redness. The skin after 3 months is more clear and toned. Acne dark spots are also visibly lightened.
I can say it is effective but you have to be patient.

Always remember what suits other people skin may not suit your skin so be careful before applying anything on your face or skin. Always do a patch test. Minimalistic also recommends a patch test.
