One year of Pulwama attack. What has changed?

On 14th  February the grusome Pulwama terror attack on CRPF jawans completes one year. More than 40 of our Brave men were martyred in this gruesome deadly terror attack on crpf. No one imagined India will avenge the killing of Pulwama martyrs by launching an air strike across the line of control,  deep inside Pakistan territory. The most important part is that the Balakot air strikes will also complete one year on 26 February.
The question is what has changed in the past one year?
First - the Balakot air strikes itself  was a change in India's approach towards tackling terror.  India was seen as a soft state. All these years we were quiet and would run to international community crying about Pakistan sponsored terrorism. We would expect America to do something about it. We hardly thought why would America do our job when it needs Pakistan for it's own self interests. Thank God we learnt our lessons from our past mistakes and finally government  gave a go ahead to Indian Air Force for an air strike deep inside Pakistan territory.

Second - Abrogation of article  370 from erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir.
The abrogation of article 370 was a distant dream. It was unprecedented & a strong decision of our government after Pulwama terror attack. The nation was taken by surprise. A setback for opposition's taunts to BJP on article 370 saying 'hata ke to dikhao', & 'kab hataoge'  we never expected abrogation of article 370 even in our wildest dreams. We never thought such a day would come during our lifetime. The former chief minister of erstwhile state of J&K had once said 'triange ko kandha denewala koi nahi hoga Kashmir mein', look how the tide turned. Today there is tiranga in Kashmir and article 370 too gone. Today, when I think of Pulwama attack I feel, the blood of our brothers in uniform gave government the strength & the energy to abrogate article 370. Abrogation of article 370 was pending for long. Successive governments came and went but no one dared to touch 370. The present ruling dispensation should be lauded for showing the will to abrogate article 370. The opposition always maintained that removing article 370 was an election 'jumla' of the BJP but BJP surprised the nation. It was an unprecedented move.
For years our successive governments shied away from discussing the removal of article 370. They never gathered the courage to remove article 370 but the present government took the risk. It is said, if political leadership is strong and is ready to take risks than expect the unexpected. Some analysts and the opposition expected there would be chaos, sloganeering & stone pelting incidences but on the contrary things went on smoothly. There maybe some stray incidences but overall peace and calm prevailed. The government managed it very well. The security forces should also be complimented for peaceful abrogation of article 370.

Abrogation of article 370 was the biggest change after the  Pulwama attack. The Balakot air strike was also a remarkable shift in the way we dealt with terror. These two decisions changed the way India looked at tackling the menace of terror. For years India was like a mute spectator to the terror attacks and went crying to the international community. The Uri terror attack was a turning point when India went for a surgical strike, but Pakistan didn't learn a lesson. Balakot air strike was unprecedented. Pakistan behaves like an errant child. It will never hesitate in supporting terror networks running inside Pakistan occupied Kashmir.  Pakistan will only change when it is hurt where it hurts Pakistan the most.
Though things have changed since the brutal Pulwama attack but still we need to hit Pakistan hard by ending the Indus water treaty. Pakistan needs to be shamed internationally by raising the brutalities it has carried on baloch people. Let the  international community take notice of it on every international platform.  Last year when Imran Khan delivered speech in United nations general assembly, he talked at length on Kashmir, Kashmir & only Kashmir. His Kashmir rant continued for too long at United nations, that he even crossed the time limit. He projected India as a suppressor, suppressing the voices of the Kashmiris. He tried to demonise  India and the Indian army as gross human rights violators. If  it was the case than how could Kashmiris chant azadi slogans, pelt stones on security forces, we would not have witnessed the incidence we witnessed a few years back where a jawan was heckled by the crowd and his helmet was thrown, kicked but he remained silent. Imagine, he had a gun in his hand but the CRPF jawan didn't retaliate. He deserves salute.

India should replicate Pakistan (in the same manner in which  Pakistan is trying to malign India on human rights internationally) and give it back in the same manner all over the world, on all international forums. Pakistan's  abuse of baloch people & their human rights should be highlighted by India on all international forums. Persecution of minorities in Pakistan should be raised on all international forums. Let the world know how girls from other communities are being converted & forcefully married in Pakistan.
On the eve of remembering Pulwama martyrs, India need to look inward too. People who speak of breaking Assam away from India during a CAA protest and those who refer Former army chief  as 'sadak ka gunda' needs to be condemned. Such words cannot be tolerated in a country like India which has one neighbour like pakistan which is bleeding India through proxy war for past thirty years. Other neighbour like China which is unpredictable. India needs to be one to meet the challenges of external forces.

As an obeisance to the Pulwama martyrs we can atleast refrain from using words like - break Assam from India,  the 'azadi' slogans. India got azadi or independence on 15 august 1947.  Ask these 'azadi' chanting people 'azadi' from whom? Their answer will be 'azadi' from price rise, from unemployment,  corruption. Question should be asked to them if they really mean it then they should say the slogan as - 'azadi from unemployment'. The word 'azadi' in english means 'independence'. India is already an independent country.
Genuine issues with genuine questions should be raised not unnecessary slogans and rants.
On 14th February, the Pulwama attack anniversary just understand one thing - only a martyrs family understand the true meaning of 'azadi' because their fathers, brothers, husbands, sons lay down their lives to keep the 'azadi' (independence) of India.
