Soldier & his love story!
A little poem....
IF YOU EVER FALL IN LOVE ...
fall in love like DIMPLE CHEEMA !
He left her not to come back ever...
but she choose to be his forever...
remain unmarried to him forever!
His soul is there in the sky...
23 years have past by,
He Rest in peace...
She chose not to marry with ease!
Her perfume would reach to him along with the breeze...
& He wore his heart on his sleeves !
He once filled her mang with his blood!
& decorated Kargil heights with the same blood..
She thought he loved her the most!
But he loved his duty more!
She thought she was his first love...
but 'call of duty' was his first love!
He didn't betray the motherland...
& chose her over his girlfriend!
Did his duty well...
fought till his last breath!
Flew into the endless sky...
But her love for him did not die..
She held his love in her heart...
Now, they live together, though world apart!
He lived life a less ordinary!
This girl was simple & ordinary,
But her love was unheard & extraordinary!
She couldn't marry him with the chants of mantras...
But she chose to live,
HAPPILY UNMARRIED TO CAPT. BATRA!
Capt. Vikram, PVC his buddies called him 'SHERSHAH' martyred during Kargil war at .4875.
He wanted to join merchant navy but later on chose Indian Military Academy because destiny had some other plans for him.
The flag flew high on .4875 telling the story of courage & valour but he was not there...
The soldier who took the nation by frenzy narrating the story of 'DIL MANGE MORE' on television during war...was no more to celebrate the victory of .4875 but has lived on in our hearts ever since & will live forever!
A sacrifice to remember forever!
He loved a girl who remains unmarried till date sacrificing her whole life for him. An unprecedented decision she took after his martyrdom. It was unheard of.
His tale had valour & her tale had love and faithfulness. If you ever fall in love, fall in love like her!
The SHERSHAH of Kargil
Capt. Vikram Batra, PVC
13 JAKLI
Martyred during recapturing of .4875
on july 1999
Kargil war or Operation Vijay as it is called was one of it's kind where all the Kargil heights were occupied by the enemy. It was a shepherd who noticed some activity on the mountains and made the Indian Army aware of it.
The war lasted two months. 527 Indian soldiers gave up their lives to retrieve those posts from the enemy. I don't think in past 100 years of human history such a war at such freezing cold mountains heights would have been fought with enemy having an edge as they were on heights and could easily see our Army climbing to regain the post.
Salute to all the soldiers who fought it. Generations would remember them.
