A republic day tribute to those defending our borders


Even on republic day our news channels whether Hindi or English they keep on talking and debating politics, Priyanka Gandhi's entry in politics, whether our honourable prime minister will come to power again or not. Whether congress will join Akhilesh or not and bla, bla bla....on politics.

There is more politics in our television studios by our news anchors or journalist then by netas on Republic day. Yes, news channels do show some stories on courage and valour of our armed forces but they show politics more even on Republic day.

A day like republic day should be dedicated to those safeguarding our borders all day & all night so that we can enjoy democracy and freedom that our constitutions gives us after all they are the ones who live and die for our India.

NAZIR AHMED WANI, who hailed from Kashmir valley and died for India then those politically charged television debates. 
Wani's story is so inspiring. Imagine a kashmiri picks up gun against India and years later dies defending India. It sounds like a movie but no, its a real soldier's real inspirational story not only for our kashmiri brothers & sisters but for all Indians.
Salute to this HERO.

There should be more such stories of our brave hearts who not only face enemy but also harsh freezing temperatures. Sometimes climate is more challenging to our soldiers than the enemy.
These stories need to be told and celebrated more than loud noisy political debates on republic day.

Story of commander ABHILASH TOMY is more important than who joins whom in 2019 elections as elections will come and go but legend of a soldier always remains and is told and retold again and again for generations to come.
We need such stories of bravery & valour to understand that freedom that we enjoy is because they protect our nation while we sleep that they give up their today for our tomorrow.
Just one day can't we stop political debates and who wins 2019 and who goes with whom during elections.

Liked republic tv's show broadcasted on republic day which brought so many stories of people who are transforming India, doing their bit, small or big , story of Crpf's initiative "Maddagar" in Kashmir, story of Kashmir's first female football coach, story of a blind chess player, Indian navy's rescue operation during Kerala floods.

Fellow countrymen this is the way to celebrate our great republic of India.

Can we dedicate one day at least saluting our forces, our nation and those countrymen who have done at least one thing to make India better.

    I agree. Soilders should be honoured and their salaries should be more than IAS officers.
